Weekly Announcements, May 14

Court Of Honor: On Monday, May 21st from 7:00 to 8:30pm we will have our Spring Court of Honor at Brea Baptist Church at 5011 Fayetteville Road. This is an opportunity for us to recognize the boys for their achievements and advancements since last fall. Families are encouraged to attend this event with their scouts. Please sign up for the event on the attached link indicating everyone who will be attending. Susan Boggs has graciously offered to cater finger foods for the event and we will need an accurate number of attendees to plan for the food. Please follow the link in order to participate in the poll: http://www.doodle.com/fvze7c88xh3ythws

Camping Trip: We will not be camping May 18 - 20th due to scheduling conflicts. We will focus on Taylor J.'s Eagle Scout Project and the OA camp out that weekend.

Service Project: CVLC is collecting fruit juices, teas, coffee, sugar, non-sugar sweeteners, flour, mustard, catsup, mayonnaise, salt and pepper for Urban Ministries this month. There is a donation box on the table as we enter the room where we meet. Please consider bringing something to donate. Please bring plastic containers - no glass.

Summer Camp: Summer camp balances are tonight. The balance is $140 which includes a $10 transportation fee. All special fees are also due at that time ($10 for Space Exploration and Cooking; $25 for Golf). Mr. Kirby will be collecting payments tonight. If you have questions or wish to make changes to your merit badge schedule please talk with Ms. Peek.

Troop Tee Shirts: Order was submitted and tee shirts will be coming soon.

Advancements: Please review the advancement sheets that were sent out on April 9th from wparrott1@nc.rr.com. If there are errors, additions or corrections that need to be made please talk with Mr. Parrott. All Scoutmaster Conferences and Boards of Reviews should have been completed last week for the Court of Honor on May 21st.

Eagle Project: Taylor J. will have a work day for his Eagle Scout Project on Saturday May 19th at Glennstone Nature Preserve to install 3 benches and 4 trial signs. There will be a signup sheet at the meeting tonight for adults and scouts who wish to volunteer to help with the project as a tour permit will need to be done prior to Saturday. Please be in class A for travel. Class B can be work while working on the site. Please bring a pair of gloves. All workers will be required to sign a waiver from the Preserve. We will meet at CVLC at 8:00 am and will return sometime after lunch. Taylor will provide water, drinks and lunch. Scouts can earn service hours for assisting with the project.

Book Harvest: We're collecting new and gently used children's books to be distributed to needy students at Forest View Elementary School. Please bring book donations to the Court Of Honor and place them in marked bins.
