Weekly Announcements, January 9
Camping Trip: Cooking Trip @ Camp Durant, Carthage NC, January 20 - 22. We will meet at CVLC at 5:00 pm on Friday January 20th and will be returning around 11:00am on Sunday January 22nd at the Baseball fields on Revere Road. Permission slips were due Monday, January 9th.
Pinewood Derby: We will be selling concessions at the Pinewood Derby on Saturday, January 21st at Hope Valley Baptist Church from 11:30 - 2:30. Those scouts not attending the Cooking Camping Trip are asked to assist the troop in in this fundraising event. We also need adults to assist with the concessions. Please contact Ms. Peek if you are available to help. Please wear Class A uniforms.
Scout Sunday: The Troop will celebrate Scout Sunday on February 5th at CVLC. We would like to have a good turnout at this event of scouts and adults for the 10:30 service. Mr. Lee sent an email last week asking for volunteers to assist with the service. If you would like to participate in the service please contact Mr. Lee.
Spring Camporee: We will be hosting the Spring Camporee April 27th - April 29th. Please mark your calendars for this weekend as we will need a lot of adult support to host this event. More details regarding this event will be coming in the next couple of months.
Sea Base: We still have 2 slots open for the upcoming trip in August. If you are interested in participating please see Mr. Eren.
Merit Badge University: Raleigh Merit badge University is February 25th. Anyone who has pre-requisites for this event needs to be working on them.
Fundraising
Popcorn: We have a few bags of popcorn left to sell. Please see Mrs. Moen if you are interested in purchasing additional popcorn.
AutoBell Car Wash Tickets: We still have AutoBell Car Wash tickets available for $14.95. Please see Mrs. Hooper to purchase tickets.
Food Lion Gift Cards: We will be taking orders for Food Lion gift cards. The cards can be used at any Food Lion and they do not have an expiration date. The Troop will earn 5% from the sale of the cards. We'll send an email out next week for everyone to place orders. If you have questions please see Mrs. Hooper.
Restaurant Night: We will have a fundraiser at El Dorado Mexican Restaurant on Highway 55 on Saturday, January 28th. We will send a flyer out by email in the next few days that you will need to print out and bring with you to dinner. We encourage everyone to come out and have dinner that night as the money raised will help pay for the adults summer camp fees which the Troop covers.
