This program is designed to satisfy the rank requirement of hiking 5-miles with a compass and map. 

Directions

From I-85: Drive North on Cole Mill Road and stay on it. Cole Mill Road empties into the main entrance to the Park. You will pass another section of the park prior to arriving at the main entrance, but do not turn into that section; just off of Umstead Road.

The Troop will camp at Wood Run Camp. This is a great time to enjoy the outdoors while satisfying rank requirements.

Directions:

- Go South on NC 751

- Turn Right on US 64 o Asheboro

- Turn Left in I 73/74 and US 220

- Right NC 24/27 (Biscoe exit)

- Go approximately 10 miles past (west of) Troy.

- Wood Run Camp parking

(Note: If you reach Lake Tillery/PeeDee River, you've gone 2.3 miles too far.)

The Annual Swim test satisfies the swimmig requirement for Tenderfoot and Second Class ranks.

Location: The Farm (UNC Faculty Club), #1 Alice Ingram Circle(Off of Barbee Chapel Rd.), Chapel Hill

Directions:

From UNC Campus
Take Raleigh Road towards Raleigh and I-40. Raleigh Rd will become 54 East. Proceed approximately 1 1/2 miles on 54 East and turn right onto Barbee Chapel Road (Barbee Chapel is the next right turn after the Friday Center and there is a Citgo gas station on the corner.) Proceed 1/2 mile down Barbee Chapel and turn right at the white sign into the The Farm. Clubhouse and Picnic Shelter event parking is available by taking the first two right turns into lots behind the picnic shelter and hard tennis courts.

From Points East (Raleigh & Durham)
From I-40 take exit 273 towards Chapel Hill. Proceed approximately two miles. Turn left on Barbee Chapel Road. There is a Citgo Gas Station on the corner. Proceed 1/2 mile and turn right at white sign into the The Farm. Clubhouse and Picnic Shelter event parking is available by taking the first two right turns into lots behind the picnic shelter and hard tennis courts
