ATTENTION FIRST YEAR (TFC) SCOUTS:

SERVICE PROJECT AND PERSONAL FIRST AID KIT

REQUIRED FOR SECOND CLASS RANK

 

 

1.       In order to complete Second Class Requirement 4 you must participate in an

      approved service project.  The service project can be helping at Eagle projects

      announced during the troop meetings or other community projects.  When the

      project is completed, have the person in charge write down what, when, where you

      did your service project and turn it into Scout Master at a troop meeting.  A

      service project of 1 hour minimum is required for Second Class, but more is

      recommended.  Participating at troop activities, including helping at Eagle

      Projects, helps to earn Scout Spirit which is required for all rank advancement.

 

2.       In order to complete Second Class Requirement 6b you must prepare a

      Personal First Aid Kit and have it approved as soon as possible.  

 

      The Personal First Aid Kit is in the Scout Handbook on Page 289 and consists of:

·         Adhesive Bandages (6) – various sizes recommended

·         Sterile Gauze Pads 3” X 3” (2)

·         Adhesive Tape (1 small roll)

·         Moleskin 3” X 6” (1)

·         Small Bar of Biodegradable Soap (1)

·         Small Tube of Antiseptic (1)

·         Small Scissors (1)

·         Latex Disposable Gloves (1 pr.) –

·         Mouth Barrier Breathing Device for CPR (1) –   

·         Plastic Goggles or other Eye Protection (1)   

·         Paper & Pencil (1 each)

 

Place all items in a zip-lock bag or small plastic container, write your name and the words PERSONAL FIRST AID KIT with permanent marker on the outside. You should carry this Personal First Aid Kit on all campouts.
